Sorry if this is the wrong place to post this but i was wondering what would be the possibility to have alpha errata'd so that the range is reduced to 4 and the wording makes it so that it can effect any beast rather then just enemy beasts? Something more akin to the spell hoffman has for constructs.

I am well aware of the implications that this will have game play wise and feel that it would make a significant improvement to this master but not make him OP game play wise and make sense theme wise. Yes he can give another beast companion but this would allow for a lot more tactical flexibility.

Would love to hear what other people think about this change happening and if they have tried it out as a house rule and how it went. Or even if they are able to try it out and post here how it went. If you do please be subjective about how it went gameplay wise.

I love everything about this master apart from this one spell!

PS. sorry again if this is the wrong place for this or if I am stepping over the line with this suggestion

There are some pretty broken combos with him giving beast to his own dudes and stuff that follows on from there.

Don't apologise, it's an open forum and you have as much right to make suggestions/request changes as Wyrd do to not make them.

Some great ideas have come from people posting questions like yours.

@ Tenabrae: Could you please give the examples of the broken combos? Have you played tested this out? if so could you please give details on its use and potential solutions to problems you encountered when using it.

I understand that there may be some powerful combos with this but perhaps increase CC if that is the case.

I must be honest in that I fail to see any combos that are OP with this change, powerful yes, broken no. If there is combos that prove me wrong I am more then happy to hear them.

I may be wrong with this but can you use a laywer to make your own model not friendly anymore and then use alpha anyway (sorry I don't have the book on me to check the wording of the lawyers spells)?

lawyer makes them "not friendly." He does not make them enemies, so if alpha says "enemy" beast it won't work to use the lawyer on your own beasts.

There was a lot of discussion of this kind of thing during the Rising Powers beta, it's one of the reasons the Lawyer is so tightly worded.

Think of Alpha, it's 7mask reactivate (albeit as a 2 action). I'm pretty sure you can come up with a few models that would be nice to activate twice rather than using Marcus' actions for himself (and of course he can still get a strike or charge (and a charge of course can be used for movement rather than attack) if he doesn't need to turn one of his own models into a beast (e.g. double-lawyer, shikome, etc)).

It's also an issue for future proofing as it means every model that can potentially brawl with Marcus has to be balanced for Marcus being able to reactivate it.
