Ok, so I am trying not to beat a dead horse. But, I have searched the forums...could someone please explain what the first example on the LoS diagram is. It is not written in any logical way. I would retype it but I dont want to get into copyright issues.

And in general, basing off my experience with WarmaHordes and Warhammer, is LoS still basically being able to draw an unobstructed line from any part of the base to another base? Assuming nothing is obstructing it, then they get the Blocking, Obstructing, and cover bonuses?

Thanks!

That's it. If a line can be drawn from one base to the other there is LoS. If that LoS is obstructed (ie if lines can't be drawn from all points of the base, meaning if the target's base is at least partially hidden) and the target is within 1" of the obstacle (and the attacker is not within 1" of that obstacle) the target might get soft cover (obscuring) or hard cover (blocking) depending on the nature of the obstacle. If no line can be drawn between the bases you then look at the height of the models and obstacle: if the obstacle is = or greater height than both models there is no LoS. If not same as above applies.

Hope this helps! :)

Ok, I thought that is how LoS works but it seemed a bit more confusing the way they wrote it.

So back to the diagram on p. 16 is it saying that the Warpig does not have LoS to Nino because only one line makes it to his base and the other runs into the bottom of the Gremlin base?

My copy's explanation does not make any sense.

Had to read it twice after looking it up and its just a case of a missing comma. The exact wording of the first point under the top LOS Diagram is:
"Nino has full LoS to Gremlin 1 and the Warpig as no line from Nino's base to either base passes over an intervening item's base."

So what it is saying is Nino has full LoS to both models because no line drawn from Nino's base passes over any intervening item/terrain etc.

If your books wording is different, can you post up the exact quote? What point is this line? I don't see what your talking about in my book :/

That is what mine says also. I just reread it and it makes sense now. After adding a comma it makes sense.
