A question on targeting ranged spells

Hi all,

Can a caster target itself with a ranged spell that doesn't have the ranged attack icon? I have the vague feeling that this may have changed with the Rules Manual, but I couldn't find a confirmation during our game tonight.

Examples:

- Rasputina casting December's Touch
- Silent One casting Turn to Ice

On a related note - can Rasputina / Silent One use Ice Mirror to target a buff spell on the model that is spotting the spell? I would think so since a model logically has LoS to itself.

Depends on the spell. If it has a resist, then it is an attack. You cannot attack yourself.

So:
December's Touch: Yes
Turn to Ice: No
