I have a rule question in connection with Kirai, could you help me?
It sounds quite illogical, but the spirits really suffer from the effects of severe terrain? I mean does severe terrain halves the movement of spirits, although they can pass through and stop on impassable terrain? Are there any rules regarding this?
Thx in advance and Happy Bunnies :)!

I don't have a rulebook in front of me but I believe they ignore terrain and can pass through other models as well.

Page 10 of the Rules Manual states that Spirits move through other models, don't block LoS, and can move over and stop on impassable terrain. Unless there is a Hierarchy of terrain modifiers, (I.E. if you can ignore impassable you aren't affected by rough) nothing in the current rules states that Spirits ignore rough terrain.
The original rules from book 1 stated on page on page 21 that Spirits could move over terrain and through other models without penalty.
So either it was an oversight in the wording of the Rules Manual, or it was a deliberate change or clarification of original intent. Either way I don't think it matters. From my understanding Wyrd wants to avoid the stacks of errata and FAQs that prompted them to release the Rules Manual in the first place.
My current understanding is that RAW Spirits do not get to ignore movement penalties for moving through rough terrain. I'm sure a friendly neighborhood Rules Marshall(tm) will be along shortly to clarify the matter one way or another.
Personally I hope I'm wrong in my interpretation as I just started a Kirai crew.

*Bump*
Could a Rules Marshall clarify this point if they get a chance? Given how wrong I was on one of my last interpretations I'd like to know if I understand this one correctly.
Thank you!

i'm not a marshal, but i think they can go trough without the penalty, if they can go trough impassible why would their movement be halved if they go trough rough? its like hey i'm a ghost i can walk trough walls but a bit of rubble and its a problem?
or i missed something very important about the spirit rule

Note the clarification. Folks mix real life 'through' with rulesese 'over' when it comes to terrain.
Ruling for Spirits
When a disengaging Spirit is blocked successfully it must be legally located in such a way that it remains both within LoS of the model that blocked it AND in that model's melee range. This may mean the Spirit must move back to where it started.
Clarification
Spirits can still move through terrain. The term 'over' in the rules indicates 'over' the terrain base (all terrain has bases now, remember?), rather than them 'hopping over the wall'. There is no movement penalty for them moving over (through in your reading) wallls, etc.
Spirits can stop their movement 'on' impassible terrain (i.e. they can hover over the pit of nasty broken glass unlike other models. Spirits cannot, however, end their movement so they are sitting 'within' something with the impassible trait. They cannot hide themselves in hills, etc.

Spirits can move through Severe Terrain without Penalty.

And on a side note:
Spirit Errata
Spirits ignore the severe terrain trait when moving.
We're not sure how that fell off, and we apologize.

Thank you!
I think the lesson here is that anytime I give an interpretation on the rules, the truth is most likely the opposite.
My Kirai spirits are much happier now.

Can we get confirmation that the old ruling that non-Spirits can move through Spirits still stands because that was also left out of the Rules Manual?

Defined as part of the pass through ability, which all spirits have

Spirits don't have Pass Through by default nor does Pass Through allow other models to move though models with the Pass Tthrough ability, at least not according to the Rules Manual. If I'm wrong, please let me know.

I'm glad after all this time that the severe question has been answered. One more question. Spirits use to ignore hazardous terrain. Was this left out as well or meant to be forgotten?
