Soul stone miner gets weapon master from an action.

Does the model have the talent Weapon Master or an effect granting Weapon Master.

The Soulstone Miner has a talent that creates an effect. You could Hex off the talent but once the talent is used in a turn the Melee(Master) would be an effect on the model, so something like dispel magic would get rid of it, but Hex couldn't.

Also.. The Miner would of course lose (+2)Melee Master at the Resolve Effects phase..

And if you can't Hex off a granted by an effect I suspect you can't Copy it either.. Although to be honest I would've thought you could do both..

As I read it, the Doppelganger can use Mimic Talent to gain the Soulstone Miner's Overdrive and may then use it to gain Melee Master.

OK. I got this slightly wrong. When an talent says a model gains an ability, eg Melee Master(+2). It literally prints it onto the card for the duration of the effect. So it counts as both an Effect and a Talent. Therefore can be Hexed off or Copied by a Doppelgänger, it can also be removed by a Dispel Magic.

They combine into +4 on the card for the duration of the effect.

Now for a long time people have been under the agreement you could not copy passage of time. (You would not have the effect at the start of game so it does nothing) With this ruling however we could then copy the results he got from passage?

If so and you took say night would you get the "Night" effect Darkness and midnight blade or would you get just one of those effects. (Even tho in this case the copy model would not have a saber and could not use midnight blade.

At the start of the activation phase, the Riders phase would be checked and the talents under that phase copied onto the card. So if the Mechanical Rider was on the Full Power Stage 2 new talents would go on the card (+1)Melee Expert and Cb(:tomes)Brutal[Saber], which would last to the end of the turn. These would act like any other talents on a model so Hoffman would be able to assimilate one of them.

Damn Pedants there is always one... I would use a white board marker and laminate my cards..

Or just keep a piece of paper and a pen handy, and write down the name of the ability you have copied. Then at the end of the turn, cross it out to remind yourself that it went away during the Resolve Effects phase. ;)
