So, after the ruling that Brawl partners of Leveticus can bring their Totem, I found a combo that seems cheating good.
I want to know if it is legal for totally theoretical reasons, as I already swore I would not use this on my friends.
Clockwork tools lets the Mechanical Assistant gain a scrap token whenever a Construct within 3" is sacrificed by taking a wound.
First turn, move your 4 Steam Punk Abominations up near the Assistant. Form the Desolation Engine, sacrificing all four Steam Punk Abominations.
Activate the Mechanical Assistant and drop all 4 of them.
Activate Leveticus and summon 2 or 3 SPA's. Activate Rusty Alice and Summon 1 or 2 SPA's.
Activate an SPA, form second Desolation Engine.
Profit.
Is this all legal and legit?

I think the "by taking a wound" part would scupper your idea - an outright sacrifice doesn't cause wounds. Or have I misunderstood your post?

He is talking about "Clockwork Tools" ability from the Mechanical Assistant. Apparently by reading his rules in the Book then yes you are correct.
If they change him before release then this might change, but as of right now you can play a brawl and continuously summon a Desolation Engine every turn, as long as you heal the attendant back to full somehow.

Can you quote the ability "Clockwork Tools"? Something doesn't seem right about that..

Clockwork Tools: This model may gain one Scrap Counter when a construct within 3" and LoS is sacrificed. This model suffers 1 Wd for each Scrap Counter gained this way.
And the Attendant has 5 Wounds.

Note the highlighted bit. You can't put down Counters or Hand them off to another model. So the only way to get them off the Mechanical Attendant would be to kill it.

Well... looks like it would work then. Though the summoning is at least not to easy to pull off, especially for Alyce. It's completely legal unless it gets a wording change.
Though how does the attendant drop the counters without killing it? Normally you can't drop counters. Special rule on it?
One of those strange things that comes out when you look at Brawls I guess. O.o

Yeah, the main thing the Attendant's scrap counters are used for is as a mobile target for Hoffman's Detonate Scrap ability. Rack up 3-4 counters on the Attendant, and then using Companion, run it out ahead, and then Hoff detonate's scrap, doing a pulse that doesn't affect the Attendant itself.
However, this definitely does seem like a pretty cool idea with Levi. Would only get 1 extra Desolation engine out of it, as you'd have to kill the Attendant in order to make him drop the Scrap Counters. Still though. Turn a 3 SS model into a 12 SS model? Pretty decent trade-off, IMO.

Yeah, apparently I thought you could drop Scap Counters if you were a Salvager.
So less awesome. I mean, it is still a 3 SS Desolation Engine, but takes up an entire turn.
Would probably be better off keeping the little guy Alive to suppress Hobbled and Unstable Creation.
