My group have only played a few games of Malifaux but came across this the other day against the friekorp, in the little rulebook it states things like bulletproof and magic resistant give the model armour+# against the respective attack type. Now if an attack ignores armour, i.e. discharge soulstone, does it ignore the armour given to the target by magic resistant?

Thanks for your time in advance.

My guess is Discharge Soulstone ignores Armor but not Magic Resistance, because Magic Resistance does not give you Armor, it reduces the damage taken from magic sources (like armor but it is not litterally Armor). So Colette would ignore the Guardian's Armor+2 but against a Freikorps the damage would be reduced by 1 point thanks to Magic Resistant 1.

From the Rules Manual page 116:
"Magic Resistance #
This model gains Armor+# vs. Spells and Spell effects."

From this I'd believe that spells that ignore Armor ignores Magic Resistance aswell.

Oh bummer Wod, you're catching me everywhere aren't you! :)
I read Magic Resistance from my book 2, so I see they changed the wording.
i guess you're right again :P

Oh wild....I hadn't noticed that they changed the wording. That's nice. Otherwise, Colette's crew always had a semi-tough time doing much damage to the Freikorps. Cool.
