it says on page5 that schemesare unique in tournaments does this mean that in a three round tournament that you can only use a scheme once a round or one time between the three rounds?

each scheme can only be used once a tournament.

correct, consider each scheme UNIQUE for the duration of the entire tournament. It adds a ton of strategy to scheme selection, and forces people out of their comfortable little boxes where they only choose the same schemes over and over.
That's right, to win tournaments, you will actually have to challenge yourself :D

in the limited faction pool rules it states that mercenarys are always +1 ss is this meant to mean in faction mercs as well?(eg collette hiring a showgirl)

I don't think this rule applies to in-faction hiring. The way minion types have always worked in Malifaux is that you choose how you hire a minion from your options. A cross-faction hire of a Mercenary would hire him as a Mercenary, but in-faction hire of one would make it a regular in-faction hire.

Exactly what he said. Viki would not pay more for there Outcasts as well.
I have a feeling most tournies will be ran Single Faction anyways so it shouldn't come up much.
The Unique scheme idea is something a lot of us henchman have been using for some time. It really helps make the game a lot of fun and challenges people. Before I instituted it my hard core play-to-winners would almost always just pick Bodyguard and holdout every round.

Eh I brought up this issue and they did not clarify. The tournament merc rule as written is pretty vague saying merc models not merc models that have been hired with the merc rule. One of our local players thought ment that levi had to hire all other faction models for +1.
I am sure this is the intention but we have a book 2 because they wrote one thing and every one read some thing else. I personalty thought this rule was odd. I don't think the tournament rules should be different then the main rules of the game.

Well, in all fairness the rule seems to be there only so that the list acceptance is easier to conduct. The actual in-game cost of hiring the minion isn't affected - only the total point-cost of your Limited Faction Pool tournament list.
Am I reading this right?

Wow that's nothing like how I understood it. Glad others read this more then one way and its not just me. O well I doubt I would play in that tournament environment any way as I think it fails to account for outcasts crews.

I'm pretty sure the GG document is just written that way to clarify that when you build your Pool, you have to pay the cost of the models just as if they were being hired by your crew, and not simply whatever is on their cards.
So, for instance, if you are playing Neverborn, but you want to include the Performer/Mannequin in your pool in case you want to use them with Pandora, then you have to send 8 SS to put them in your pool.

bad example since you would do that anyway

OK, well, the way I understand it, say you are building a pool of Resurrectionist pieces, and you plan for Kirai to be one of your Masters. You can include Jack Daw in your pool of points, but he will cost 10 points in your pool, even though Kirai could actually hire him for 9 points due to her Detached ability.
This is basically in place so that if you also had, say, Seamus as another potential Master, you would have to pay 10 SS when using Jack in a crew with him. So it keeps people from squeezing more pieces into their pool then that ought to be able to.
