As the title says, I have not been able to find an answer to this and the only thread I found about the subject was unanswered.
As it stands you can measure at any time at my LGS. Just want to make sure.

I don't think there's an official rule on this, but our standard locally is basically that you can measure when you need to measure to check the effect.

Which is fine in your LGS, but for big tourneys it leaves it open to suggestions and debates. So far in your LGS and mine if we were to have a competitive event we would be at an impasse.

Buhallin has it.
There is no premeasuring in Malifaux, therefore it is up to the player to be sure they had a good look at where the Aura ended when it was put into play when making plans for their models.
