Okay, I admit it. That title was supposed to draw you in.
Normal disclaimer: I apologize if it's already been answered, etc.
The Rule in Question:
I noticed in the new rules manual under the replacement rules that it states something along the lines of (I'm away from my book ATM): "When a single model replaces multiple models it gains all of their general AP." It really doesn't delve further. It gets pretty specific about multiple models replacing a single model, but not vice versa.
The Situation:
I played against Leveticus last night. He has Steampunk Abominations. Four combine to form the Desolation Engine (And I'll form the head!). They each have 2AP in and of themselves. There are three unactivated Abominations; The fourth activates and uses it's first AP to turn the group into the Engine.
The Real Question:
Three unactivated models have a total of 6AP between them. The last used just one to make the Replacement. Together they have 7AP remaining. The Desolation Engine would 'get all of their general AP', as well as it's Melee Expert. This would total 8AP.
I am not disputing the Melee Expert. My opinion is the the Desolation Engine should not be allowed to go over 2 General AP.
Rules as Written: Hmmm...
Rules as Intended: Hell no.
Opinions? Links to rulings?
