Hi!
I've been reading the posts about the woods blocking LoS to a model behind them, I got that part.
Hans' sniper talent makes him "ignore obscuring terrain", does this mean he ignores woods (or anything else which has the characteristic "obscuring") altogether and means he can still shoot at a target when there's a wood in between them or like for the hunter examples, his LoS is completely blocked if there is a wood between him and his target?
I'm guessing it's option 2, but just wanted to make sure!
Also could somebody put the link from WS about models never giving cover, I just can't find it anymore!
Thanks for your help!

Yes. The only thing the Sniper ability Won't ignore is if a Giant ass mountain is between you and your target.
also with damage upped to 2/2/5 and his combat is a 5:rams with Critical Strike Baked in, he's a brutal sniper at 16" dealing 3/3/6 if you don't activate Headshot.

I have only recently encountered Hans. He was put behind a wall, which he then proceeded to shoot through because he ignored terrain. I must admit I have my reservations about whether or not this is legal. I guess my question is this:
Does Ignore Obscuring Terrain mean, "he ignores any terrain feature that is obscuring his target"
By that i mean, when firing him, you treat the table as if there was no terrain on it, in which case the scenario above is legal.
Or
Does Ignore Obscuring Terrain mean, if the model is behind Terrain but you can draw Line of Sight to them, they don't get cover bonuses or some such?

Hans ignores obscuring terrain (e.g. forests or most terrain type spells) he doesn't ignore terrain that simply blocks LOS through its size (e.g. a huge wall or building).

Obscuring Terrain is a type of terrain. Only that type is ignored.
