I was reading some old posts over at CMoN this morning because I'm having wet pallette problems and I was tyring to figure out what's going wrong (and with me the possibilities are limitless) when I came across this post from 2004:
Ok, so I want to be a better painter... (http://www.coolminiornot.com/forums/viewthread.php?tid=6337)
Kinda interesting to get a glimpse into the past.
(BTW, I found the answer to my problem in that very thread. Wyrd, huh?)

The key is to always lick your brush! That was it, wasn't it? :p:

Sorry, but no. I know you want me to lick my brush, but I will not give into the Dark Side. :)

I was a brush licker once.. until I figured out the allergic reactions I was having were a direct result to licking my brushes. I dont know if it was the bristles, or the paint, or what, but it stopped when I stopped. It was a veeeery hard habit to break too.

Hahaha! He's certainy come a long way, hasn't he? Hopefully he's figured out the camera by now. ;)
I'm also a memeber of the good side of the force in not being a regular brush-licker. In fact the only time I do lick brushes is in the store so I can see how well a point it forms. And don't think that it sounds gross to be licking strange brushes since there's grosser things out there, like I always shudder when I see the cashier lick her fingers before counting out bills for change. Ugh!
:D
Brush licking is almost required when glazing. How else are you going to quickly get all of the glaze out of your brush so you can pull the excess off of the mini?

Exactly!! :D If I was to reach all the way to my water jar and then wipe off the brush on my wiping cloth, then the excess paint would have dried on the mini.
Of course, you could use two brushes... one for applying and one for wiping off, but that seems like an unnecessary hassle when you might as well just suck the paint off the brush and use it for both purposes.
And then there's the taste thing... :D Mmmmmmmm.... paint!!

As long as it doesn't have Winsor & Newton flow improver in it. That stuff tastes terrible!

ok, so I actually DO use 2 brushes to remove the excess...but yet I still lick my brush, which leads me to believe I do it for fun, not serving any practical purpose. I think that's worse...
