Another paint (and sculpt) competition has popped up. So if you have time left after painting for the Wyrd competitions it might be good fun to join this too. And it is for charity (and if you win for your own pocket aswell) too.

The Newbold Challenge

Here be the Challenge Rules :-

Categories

1. There are three categories :-

a. An original sculpt in any scale
b. An original paintjob of a Newbold World mini
c. An original paintjob of any mini by any other manufacturer in any scale

2. Original sculpt or paintjob means not displayed anywhere on the net or in a hard copy publication until after the winning entries in the Challenge are announced on our site. Any entry found to have been so displayed will be disqualified. Our aim is to have anonymous entries for judging purposes.

3. You may enter as many categories as you like as many times as you like.

4. You may choose any subject matter you wish for your sculpt or paintjob. Just do what will give you most enjoyment at the time. Above all have fun.

Entrants

5. Anyone may enter whether you are a professional or an amateur, whether you freelance for our company or for any other manufacturer or are completely independent.

6. You may seek personal sponsorship for your entry from any company you work with if you wish. We will almost certainly sponsor a couple of entries in each category.

Entries

7. Entries must be e-mailed to us here and must consist of two photos (340 pixels wide x 360 pixels tall) of the sculpt or paintjob (one front view and one rear view) and your full name and postal address.

8. Entries may be submitted any time from 9.00am GMT on Friday 17 November to 9.00pm GMT on Friday 16 February 2007.

9. We will display all entries on our website as soon as we can process them after receipt. They will be displayed anonymously until after we announce the winners. But we will identify the mini (eg a Crunch Waffle Waggamuffin) to help you get sponsorship if you wish to do so.

Voting

10. Voting will take place from 9.00am GMT on Thursday 1 March 2007 to 9.00pm on Friday 9 March 2007.

11. Every entrant will be able to vote for all three categories even if they do not enter all the categories.

12. Each entrant will be able to award points to three entries (but not their own entry) in each category. 5 points for their favorite entry, 3 for their second favourite and 1 for their third favourite.

The Winners

13. We wil announce the winners in each category on Thursday 15 March and identify all the sculptors and artists (unless anyone wishes to remain anonymous!).

The Charity Donations

14. On Friday 17 November 2006 we will donate £100 GBP to Children in Need.

15. On Friday 16 March 2007 we will donate £100 plus £1 GBP for each person who enters (person not entry received) up to a maximum of £900 to Comic Relief.

The Winners’ Prizes

16. We will pay the winners’ prizes via paypal on Friday 16 March. The person with the highest score in each category will recive £50 GBP, the second highest score will receive £35 GBP and the third highest £20 GBP.
