Special thanks to Maya Morland for working on the rules:

New Rule Set:

Please read this post carefully as some of the rules and formats of our painting contests have changed. If you have a question, please ask in this thread instead of the old contest thread:

Every contest needs rules and this one is no different! Pay attention please and read this post completely as we don't want any hard feelings or disqualifications due to rule bending/breaking. If you have a question, ASK!!

In order to participate and be able to submit entries and vote, you must create an account on the Wyrd website. You are encouraged to enjoy the forum, but it is not required to enter the Wyrd Painting Contests.

RULES:

1). You must submit a miniature that fits the theme of the contest that is currently running.

2). The miniature MUST be your work alone, DO NOT pass off someone else's work as your own. You may submit a miniature that has been converted by someone else, but the basing and paint job must be done by you.

3). You may enter as many times as you like, but you can only place once per catagory. If you win "Best of Show" or have ever won "Best of Show", then you complete in the Malifaux Masters category for all future Wyrd painting contests. If you have ever painted for any companies promotion or display cabinets or have been a staff painter for any company, then you compete in the Malifaux Masters category.

To keep the contests fun for all. All past BEST OF SHOW winners and Wyrd Staff can only enter the MALIFIX MASTERS category.

4). Miniatures must be totally unshown figures painted for this competition and displayed anonymously for this contest. Disqualification of any miniature will result if the miniature has been shown anywhere including posting works in progress, fully completed figures, shown in any published medium such as magazines, in personal venues such as conventions, announcements in blogs, webpages, forums or any type of medium or sharing any information that can identify your entry. In short, we want to see something new that hasn't been seen prior to entry into Wyrd contests.

5). When submitting your picture it must be in the .JPG (JPEG) format, with a file size no larger than 300k and the width must be no larger than 800 pixels. There is no length restriction at this time.

6). When you go to submit your photograph fill out the description box with any flavor text you wish to be shown. You must also put in the name of the manufacturer (or unknown if you don't know it) and if it is a Wyrd miniature make sure you state so in the description so that you can be included in any Wyrd only sections. If not your entry could be missed and won't be added after the fact to the category if you don't list it as a wyrd miniature! I reserve the right to place a miniature in the proper category if it is not stated or is "misplaced."

7). Double check your entry before you upload it to make sure it fits the contest requirements. You will not get notification if it does not and it will not be included in the contest. If you accidently upload the wrong photo or make a mistake upload the correct one and put what error you had in the description. This helps us get the entries up faster for all to enjoy and vote on so please double check!!

8). Miniatures can be submitted ay any time while the contest is open though none will be showcased until after the final submission date. Submissions will be accepted up until Midnight, EASTERN U.S. time, on the closing date of the currently running contest. Submissions, corrections or correction requests after the cut off date and time will NOT be accepted, no exceptions.

9). By submitting your entry you give Wyrd permission to use your photograph and username in promotion of Wyrd Painting Contests, should wyrd so choose to do so.

10). In order to submit an entry for the contest, go to the current contest gallery, under the gallery tab and upload your entry. Your submission will NOT show up until it has been reviewed and edited after the entry closing date. A direct link to this gallery will be at the bottom of this post.

11). After the entry date has passed, the submissions will be published to the proper contest gallery and will be on view for 24 hours before voting begins.

12). If there are no corrections or disqualifications in 24 hours, then the polls will open for voting. You MUST vote in all available category polls, and three times in each poll for your votes to count.

13). We believe that contests should be fun community building events that allow folks to proudly display their miniature artwork and receive helpful critic in the hopes of enjoyment and incentive to improve painting skills. We do catch vote padding and "friends only" voting. Every voter must vote in every pole or their votes will be discarded. Excessive padding/friend voting like we have seen in past contests is the reason that the results take so long to be posted after polls close and creates a ton of unnecessary work for Wyrd staff. Should the extent of the padding/friend voting continue we will have to run these contests without prizes or not at all. Please do not pee in the pool and ruin the fun for everyone.

14). Voting will be open for seven days after the polls are opened.

In the spirit of fun competition Wyrd gives three "Random Entry Schmuck" prizes to randomly selected non-winning entries and three "Random Voting Schmuck" prized to three lucky random commenters.

Please note that the more valid comments you leave the better your odds of receiving a "Random Voting Schmuck" prize. Nonconstructive fly by comments like "cool" , "I like" won't count. At least try to say something about the miniature, even if its just what you like and why. Feedback for folks entering is one of the reasons why we hold the contests!

Should there be any questions, or if anything is unclear, PLEASE take the time to ask in the forums as that is the quickest way to receive clarification on a subject as well as bring it to the attention of others.

Just a quick rules clarification...

If doing a "single model" category is a second mini as part of the overall model acceptable?
