wow, thats some character!
first couple of questions;-
undying - I guess this is each time Jack is wounded, not per turn?
betrayed - how does this interact with hangmans knot or severed ties? as they are casts rather than resist duels does it come into play?

Each time he would suffer a wound.
betrayed - how does this interact with hangmans knot or severed ties? as they are casts rather than resist duels does it come into play?
Betrayed comes into play when HE resists a spell.

A very interesting character indeed.
Starts building a hanging tree...

I got a question.
How much to hanged cost when you hire them with Jack Draw? Do you still have to pay the extra 1 Stone? Also are they considered mercenaries for the purpose of how many models you can hire into a crew

1 extra stone and they are not considered Mercenaries.

Ah hah, now I understand what 'magical' weapons do... couldn't figure it out before (of course I may have missed reading an ability like The Oldest of Magics in the rulebook)

Hmmmm..... very interesting.
With Jack Daw able to take Hanged, I can see him and Killjoy making a nice alternative undead list for my Viks to run with... I have no idea how it will play, but boy, will it be fun.

He just doesn't quite seem worth the 9 SS...
until you get to that laaaaaast spell.

A few nice abilities but I don't really see the point, especially for 9ss! (10 if you're not Nicdem, Leveticus or the Viks).

funny, thematically I was thinking before how nice it would be to have the hanged join lady justice and her marshalls.
now that would be a possibility even :) (dont know about the tactical side of it tough.)

Severed Ties has no Resist. Add that to Heartstopper, and you have an instant kill on anyone you can hit within 6"!

So how exactly does not being able to cheat fate stop you from discarding to control cards?
It doesn't work that way.

Agreed, my train of thought went something like:
"What am I missing here? Oh... Oh ho..."

thanks for the preview, Eric. I took my hand off that button now. :D
Very interesting model, for sure. If you don't use him well, then he is more of a blessing for your opponent.
For some reason I feel like leveticus players will like this model.

I think he's great.
A 12" suppressed memories plus triggers is just frightening, and some crews are going to have alot of trouble killing him with Oldest of Magics + Undying.
I'm curious though - what happens if Zoraida hex's away Undying? Having no wounds I would guess he is killed straight away, right?
EDIT: I've posted a thread about it in the rules forum;

Ok I missed the "no resist" part of Severed Ties.....
That's pretty good. I hate it when Zoriada bewitches me, this dude can do that with a 12" diameter!

I'm going to come right out and say this... Let Zoraida Hex the hell out of Jack Daw. You can still beat that! I brutally beat to death a whole team of Pandora + Pandaganger last night, and this is no worse of an abuse. It's all just a new challenge to me with these funny new combos!

Jack Daw is interesting, espicially since heart stopper requires dual masks and it auto kills. But the interesting part about that is it bypasses the "betrayed" ability. I has mixed feeling about Jack Daw, especially since I use Lilith alot.

As far as I can see "Betrayed" ability kicks in only in Resist Duels. That means it affects only Jack Daw's player's flips and is a weakness, not an ability that makes him strong against Lilith (or any other mask user).
Heart Stopper is a trigger that activates in his Ca duels, which are not affected by "Betrayed" at all.

Unless I misread the card, (1) Driven By Injustices references an attack (Baleful Aura) that does not exist.
Great model, and very nice rules. I love that Severed Ties has no Resist, making this guy worth the 9/10 SS. Sonnia wailing on this guy in melee would do interesting things to both players Control Hands :)
Question: although Betrayer puts this model under the control of a random opponent, Undying says that the player who loses a Control Card is "the player who hired it". I take it that is to ensure that the random opponent doesn't kill off Jack Daw when Betrayer kicks in? So if you control Jack Daw, attack him, cheat down the Df flips and waste your opponent's Control Hand/ Soulstone cache?

Baleful Aura is the melee weapon used by The Hanged.

Only if you are not playing a scrap (in regards to the Hanged) He sounds really good on his own, better with Hanged and awesome with a Tree

Oh Yeah.... good point, I hadn't thought of that.
Although to be honest, if you are going to have Jack + Hanged and Killjoy, it had better be a brawl, as there won't be many spare stones left for anything else !!

I have heard though that he isn't good with Leviticus since he can prevent you from drawing and Jack relies on your already thin hand. I know Alyce helps but he sometimes doesn't get to die, therefore Jack can be screwed.
