after some browsing on this site I have decided to start with Malifaux. I don't have the rulebook yet but I decided I'll buy it with my first crew. I've had my eyes on Leveticus for some time now and now I wonder what does he do? I can see he's a caster of sorts but what else? and do you have any advice about building a crew with Leveticus in it?
thanks in advance

Alot, is the short answer.
The long answer is that he's probably the weirdest model in any game I've ever played. However - my oppinion on him is plastered around in every thread bearing his name in this forum :P He's, in my oppinion - one of the most agressive models in the game, and has a bizzare survival mechanic whereby his entire playstyle revolves around controlled suicides. He summons models called Hollow Waifs, whereby if he dies - he can respawn next to them, and if they die, they respawn next to him, thus meaning you need to kill all of them in the same turn for him to stay dead.
Anyway - take a look around at some of the threads, there are alot of mixed oppinions on what models to take with him, due to him having such a huge list of options (He can hire any constructs/undead/soulless, reguardless of faction). The only real unified concensus so far is that you just flat take Alyce. She is that good. The rest is mostly up in the air ^^

He does death!! He does death, buddy! :D
*Ahem* Anyhoo, now that that is out of the way. Leveticus is like an alternative take on a Resurrectionist master, mixed in a little with some Arcanist style aggressive spell slinging. He's big on ranged spell damage, but in an odd way that often directly causes wounds (no damage flips) and circumvents things like armour. He also reanimates things, but again, he does it by killing things or making his minions reanimate stuff... by killing things.
He even kills himself; and loves it!! So when I said he does death, I wasn't lying. ;)

Haha - was about to write pretty much the same thing albeit with a less enthusiastic take....

he has a hollow waif to keep him company. Very cool idea. I like Levi but you need to 'be on your game' to have success
