What a long and strange trip it's been!

Here we are, at the menage-au-finale' of Iron Painter 7!!

The combatants have outlasted an incredibly talented field to find themselves in a three-way-for-the win!

We have the wonderfully talented Beelzebrush, from Jolly old England.

We have the incredible painter from the Netherlands, Bren.

Last but not least, we have CommanderY from the state where everything is bigger and better, Texas!

The rules are the same....The highest overall score is the winner....the others just 'also rans'....

The stakes are high, and the minis are primed (well, they will be soon...)

But, what, praytell is the Theme that these warriors need to deal with.

NIGHTMARE!

It's all about impressing those judges, so get crackin!

The deadline for this final is

SUNDAY, March 13th at 6 pm CST.

Will CommanderY cut through the other two?
Will Bren use her brush as a lightsaber?
Will Beelzebrush finally get the attention he deserves?

Did you guys know I can do a perfect castration? I've only done it on cats, dogs, rats, pigs and rabbits so far but human anatomy isn't very different. I really am your worst nightmare :vb_devil:

Hmm, this is a bit of a challenge as my idea means some scratchbuilding quite small and using technique I haven't tried before. Not to worry though, I'm only looking at the ITIC category. Good luck you 3!

I had a thought: Maybe say, after GenCon, we do an "Iron Iron Painter?" Essentially the same as an IP, but only open to people who have competed in a final round of a previous IP? Since it's a fairly short list, it wouldn't be many rounds, but wouldn't mean having to wait all the way to January for another one.

I admit, I'm crazy, and probably the only person who doesn't get burnt out on IP.

Actually, that's not true. If more than seven people entered, it'd be at minimum four rounds. Stupid exponents.

Maybe limit it to single figures only, with a one week deadline, then.

Switched to Plan B. Take Bishop and build my 3 terrain and thanks God whoever he she it be it looks great.

Still got some problems with my camera but i think i can show you some good shots of the finished workpiece.

As i see i am the only one this round who shows up a WIP

One of my models is holding scissors, is that scary enough :-)

The biggest part is finished, just some more details and funny stuff and hopefully all is done by Sunday. I haven't done anything like this before so I hope it'll photograph properly...

My big reveal will have to be this afternoon - we leave tomorrow morning for Vegas to celebrate our (lucky) 7th Anniversary. Just booked anniversary dinner at Tom Colicchio's CraftSteak! SO excited.

Painting is done, I think - the pictures will let me know. Wish I knew how to do a dark background.

I hope you will all be thoroughly disturbed by it. Just filing the mold lines gave ME nightmares...

Bah! Guys.... I hate to say it, and it's the most ridiculous time to do it but I'm going to have to DNF :(

I've had a ridiculously busy few weeks with work stuff - it's coming to the busiest time of my year and I've been working like a fool.... out in the daytime and drawing plans and designs at night. This hasn't left a great deal of time for IP.... I made a start but have only been able to do it in very brief fits and starts. To be honest, I'm knackered too.

I can't believe I've had to do this as i've been trying to get to the final for ages but.... $$$$$$$$ happens I guess.

Sorry to all still in and sorry to PM too. Also, PM, I've had limited internet recently due to my PC melting down, so any online stuff has had to be done at my brothers.

AGain, sorry guys :(

Posted feedback on the finalists. Throughout the contest I have written several times regarding a lack in them. When I look at an IP piece, I want to be able to discern from the model that the theme is. It should be so apparent that if the model wasn't in this contest where we all know what the themes are that I should get an evocation of theme just by seeing the model(s). I generally don't read stories behind the entries - I just want to get a vibe and dig it. In short, no offense was meant - I just have really harsh criteria for the theme bit. :)
