Last night we kicked off the "Meeplemart Minimeet Malifaux League - Winter/Spring 2010" at Meeplemart in Toronto.
As of right now it is still an open league, with spots available. We are looking at at least one round of play, but that might change once we see how quick we can run it (otherwise the Summer/Fall league will have to be improved).
Anyway, rules are based off the Maplewood, NJ league posted here in the forum, with some changes that are...still changing!
As for right now, this is how it looks...
Meeplemart Minimeet Malifaux League - Winter/Spring 2010
Games played every Tuesday night at Meeplemart in Toronto. Games can be played outside of this, as long as notice is given.
Players choose a Faction to play throughout the league, which cannot be changed. As well, a starting Recruitment Pool of 30ss will be chosen from that Faction's (and available Outcast's) models. This pool will be added to by purchasing models using 'Cred' gained by playing games.
Players' Crews for each match is limited by their Max SS Allowance. Beginning at 25ss, this limit will be raised by spending 'Cred.'
When one player has a lower ss limit than their opponent, they gain bonus ss equal to the difference in Max SS Allowances.
Cred will be earned thusly...
+1 Cred for playing
+1 Cred for winning
+2 Creds for achieving your Strategy
+1 Cred for each Scheme achieved
+1 Cred if your opponent has earned more Cred than you
+1 Cred if you play a game with painted models (one time only)
+1 Cred if you lend models to another player (one time only)
You can increase your Recruitment pool by purchasing units at a 1ss-to-1 Cred purchase.
You can increase your Max SS Allowance at 1ss-to-2 Cred.
As of right now, we are playing one round, so each player will play each other player once. Thus, the painting and lending bonuses will only be given once, but if we do play a second round, they can be achieved again.
What happens at the end, whether we just give out prizes or we play League Finals, will be determined at a later date.
