Right, I'm playing a game next week and it's almost guaranteed to be against Lady J, possible Perdita but I doubt it. I just got Bete and am looking to use her but my question is what master to use? I've fought Lady J before and she trounced me by having such a high WP vs undead and by sacking all my lovely corpse tokens. I want to use Seamus since he's less reliant on corpse tokens but the majority of Lady J's crew will be at WP8 which takes away from Seamus's greatest strength.

I'm thinking along the lines of:

Seamus
Sybelle
2 x Belle
2 x Punk Zombies
Bete
either a totem or 2 extra SS

I'll change depending on what strategy I get but this is the basis. The problem is that there aren't really any heavy hitters which makes me nervous, I like my flesh constructs and usually never leave home without one! I was thinking about dumping sybelle and a SS for the construct but that leaves me without her lovely alpha strike. I'm just horribly confused! Basically if someone could point me in the right direction vs Lady J it'd be much appreciated.

Play a bigger game

I haven't played with my Ressers yet, but from what I've read, the Punks are decent heavy hitters, yes? Or you could try dropping one Punk and taking the Construct instead of the totem/SS, but I'm not sure how important SS are to ol' Seamus.

I'm thinking of switching to Ressers from Guild, because I find their playsyle boring (advance. shoot. charge. win), and I was exactly thinking about what to take against them. My go-to master will be Nico, but LadyJ and/or the Executioner screws him so much, that I want to get another Master, to counter Guild. As you said, Seamus is also not the best choice because their high Wp, so that leaves us the good ol' Doctor.

And imo McMourning would be a good counter to anti-resser Guild lists. He doesn't need corpse counters to summon stuff, can stand toe-to-toe against any Guild heavy hitter and has more SS (to cheat against LadyJ). Don't forget to take some Necropunks (depending on the scenario) and a plenty of dogs with Sebastian (chain companion seems fun, and you can make Flesh Constructs from them) and probably a Nurse for guided doggy/punk missiles to weaken his models - the Guild has almost no healig, while we you can easily heal and replace your losses with McM.

Of course it's just theorymalifaux, I haven't played with the Ressers yet, but this seems the best strategy against guild. Correct me if I'm wrong :)

It depends on what you are playing against in terms of their list. The Ortega's are rather shooty, which differs alot from a Witchling stalker Lady Justice melee list or any Death Marshall list that you'll see. If you could be more specific I could give you alot better insight on your best chances of winning.

Agreed on the "what're you facing" question. Guild can do many, many things. Another thing that I would point out for Seamus is that his gun pops Death Marshals like crazy. First time I played against him, my opponent and I were both amazed by how quickly they went down - one shot, two at the most. Against a Justice/Marshals list (or anyone using the Marshals, for that matter) your big fear is gonna be the master.
